All three greenhouses at the Public Gardens now have energy-saving LED lights, producing healthier plants more quickly. Having better control of the daylight hours and amount of light also allows us to grow more varieties of sun-loving plants.
Our spring and summer planting program starts in the fall of the previous year. Begonia cuttings for our popular hanging baskets germinate and grow fast under our new greenhouse LED lights. We are growing hanging baskets along with vegetables and herbs for sale to partner retailers.
